Homeschool Classes are a fun, affordable way to learn sewing with flexibility in mind! We will work on various sewing techniques and projects. All materials included for our themed lessons OR bring your own project and materials to work independently with teacher assist available. Weekly themes may not require a sewing machine at all as we explore hand sewing, art with fabric or other mediums using textiles.
💎We have some machines available for your use but encourage children to bring working machines and all their needed supplies to class. I may not have the right type of needles or bobbins their machine would require. Older machines may require a tune up and be difficult to thread. I will not have time to learn each machine and help with trouble shooting for this class. Prior students have become discouraged trying to fix their machine during class. My goal is for children to have fun with the creative process. I encourage parents prior to class to make sure they can get their machines going. Older machine manuals are available online sometimes or try YouTube if you look up the Model # and name so please get yours looked at prior. For tune ups I recommend calling local sewing machine or quilting providers. Vacuum service centers have also proved helpful for my previous students. In the WNY area Marie’s Sewing Center in Lockport and Hamburg and Auroras Sewing Center offer tuneups. It is recommended to tune up your machine annually. If you do not have a machine and have been in the market please let me know I have a few options I use and recommend to my students for beginner machines. Some students have also found great machines odd buy nothing sites on Facebook.
💎Machine 101 basics will be taught the first few weeks of September for our beginners.
💎Classes run Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Come one or both days. Come every other week, stay the whole time or an hour your choice! This is a relaxed sewing drop off program for parents.

💎Kids are allowed to bring water in a closed container and an allergy free snack. Snack time will be designated for a certain time and not allowed near the machines.

I would like to sign up all of my children do you offer sibling discounts?
For this group clas we do not. Sibling discounts are offered on our private monthly lessons only. Please note with siblings it is strongly encouraged to evaluate each child’s desire to learn to sew. Kids ages 6+ can come, but this is not babysitting. We are asking for children that are genuinely interested in learning to sew. We have had families where 2/3 children really enjoy it and the third child is bored to death. Their behavior becomes super distracting to the other participants. Please only sign up your children that are interested in participating for the courtesy of the other group members
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes! Lessons are $250 for 8 hours and can be scheduled at your convenience. Students typically do 2 hour lessons every week. I provide basic supplies and fabric, more extensive fashion sewing projects will require students to purchase their own fabric and notions. We teach everything from beginning projects, quilting, clothing, embroidery and alterations. Students are welcome to use my machines for the more advanced projects.
Do you have pets?
We have three dogs and fish that are in a separate part of our house. The dogs are not allowed in our sewing studio. Please note they will bark if in the backyard as you come up the sidewalk. Students please use the front doorbell when coming for lessons.
