Sewing Junk Journal/Handbook 3/17/2022 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.

Junk journaling is one of the latest rages among crafters. There is no wrong way to make one! Simply add what suits you best. Make it as full and fun as you like! We are taking junk journaling up a notch and adding a sewing twist. This class is ideal for the sewing enthusiast. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced seamstress. We will create a Sewing Journal that doubles as your own personal handbook or planner. A multi-functional organizational tool on steroids if you will! See why this journal has been a popular favorite among our sewing students. They use it all the time, even taking it with them to reference while shopping. Small enough to tuck into your purse on a quick trip to your local fabric shop, yet large enough to see! You can add as little or as much as you want. We will learn how to add additional pages so your journal can continue to grow.

Class supply fee covers one large journal, your choice multi tabs, cardstock, fabric swatches, sewing embellishments and more. We will start the decorating process for your journal. Pages we complete in class include: "Fabric" where we add various fabric swatches, listing important features of each particular fabric, the best needles to work with that fabric, any specialty thread if needed and sewing projects you can make with each type. This page alone makes sewing much more efficient!

Use your sewing journal for a quick reference on your most common sewing patterns. Simply jot down some of your favorites in the "Project" section. This will save you so much time having to go through your file cabinet time and time again. Other sections include sewing tools/notions, money saving tips and terms.

Not into the reference piece? Use it strictly as a junk journal or pretty planner. I'll show you how to create some fun bullet/junk journal pages you can use for yourself in future sewing plans or gift to that fabric loving friend in your life. You do not need a fashion degree for this class just a love of crafting and willingness to try!

Students will receive the large spiral bound kraft book that measures 8.5"x11" and has 100 sheets. You will be provided scrapbooking paper to decorate the outsides and shown some ways to add fabric as well. We naturally are drawn towards pretty things, so creating it to be attractive is a must. Every sewer needs this journal for their own sanity!

Students aged 11 and up are welcome to register for this class when a parent/guardian is also registered and attending the same class.

A supply fee of $30. is due and payable to the instructor the day of class.
